Iraqi-French Business Council Holds High-Level Meeting with Minister of Finance

On ( Tuesday, 8 September 2026 ) H.E. Mr. Faleh Al-Sari, Minister of Finance, received the ( IFBC delegation ) , headed by ( Mr. أدهم الفخار – IFBC Co-Chairman ) at the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting was attended by :

– Mrs. Roaa Raad Alhassany – Board of Directors Member 
– Mr. Ali Al Asadi – Council Member 
– Mr. Yasser Sabri Raouf – Council Member 
– Mr. Suhaib Al-Hakak – Council Member 
– Mr. Fawzi Al-Hasany – Council Member 
– Mr. Zaid Ali Hussein – Council Member 
– Mr. Haider Al-Tamimi – Council Member 
– Mr. Louay Al-Saeed – Council Member

The meeting focused on developing the Iraqi economy and diversifying sources of income beyond oil dependence, strengthening the role of the private sector in economic development, attracting French investments and partnerships to Iraq, and further enhancing economic relations between Iraq and France.

The Council also presented a number of proposals, including activating the Iraqi Fund for External Development, making better use of Iraq’s external state-owned assets, improving the investment environment, and benefiting from French expertise in developing Iraq’s financial and economic sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council presented ( Honorary Membership ) to H.E. the Minister of Finance, in recognition of his support for economic dialogue and private-sector engagement.
