IFBC & Ministry of Communications – Advancing Iraq’s Digital Future

H.E. Mr. Mustafa Sanad, Minister of Communications of Iraq received The IFBC’s delegation headed by ( سيد.أدهم الفخار, Co-Chairman of the Council ) on Tuesday 22 September 2026 , at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The IFBC delegation included:

• سيد.Bassam Al-Ateia – Board Member
• Mr. Ghadeer Al-Attar – Board Member
• سيد.Yusry Yunis – Council Member

The meeting focused on opportunities to strengthen cooperation in digital and smart city development, drawing on French expertise in intelligent transport systems, digital government services, and data management.

Discussions also covered the Ministry’s vision for digital transformation in Iraq and the potential establishment of an Iraqi–French Digital Innovation & Technology Platform, bringing together government institutions, French companies, universities, and startups to exchange expertise and develop innovative technological solutions for Iraq.

During the meeting, ( H.E. Mr. Mustafa Sanad, Minister of Communications ) , was granted Honorary Membership of the Iraqi–French Business Council, in recognition of his role in supporting cooperation and advancing the digital transformation agenda.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of strengthening Iraqi–French cooperation in technology and digital transformation, while creating new opportunities for companies and investors from both countries to contribute to the development of Iraq’s digital infrastructure and digital economy.
