In a significant step toward enhancing security and digital transformation, Iraq’s Ministry of Interior in Baghdad has announced the launch of the “Injaz” biometric digital data center, in partnership with Thales, a leading French defense technology firm. The project, the first of its kind in Iraq, aims to establish a centralized and secure system integrating national identification data with biometric and forensic databases, including fingerprints, facial recognition, DNA profiles, and firearm registration.
