IFBC Participates in the Delphi Economic Forum 2026

On 6–7th June 2026, ( Delphi Economic Forum ) was held in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, under the patronage of ( Mr. Bafel Jalal Talabani ) – President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), and ( Mr. Qubad Talabani ) – Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The forum brought together an esteemed gathering of ministers, members of parliament, government officials, business leaders, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation, advancing development initiatives, and exploring new investment opportunities across key sectors.

The event was attended by ( Eng. أدهم الفخار – Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq ), together with members of the Council and Board of Directors:

• Mrs. Zina Yaqoub Yousif – Board of Directors
• Eng. Kanar Rash Kawa – Council Member
• Mrs. Roaa Raad Alhassany – Board of Directors

During the forum, we had the honor of meeting with ( Mr. Bafel Talabani ) and ( Mr. Qubad Talabani ) to discuss mechanisms for enhancing joint investment opportunities with the private sector in the Kurdistan Region, leveraging infrastructure capabilities, and investing in highly skilled human capital.

On the sidelines of the forum, a series of productive meetings were held with:

• Mr. Farouq Mulla Mustafa – Chairman of Faruk Holding Group, to discuss prospects for mutual cooperation.

• Dr. Mohammed Tamim – Former Minister of Planning and Member of Parliament.

• Lieutenant General ( Dr. Omar Adnan Al-Waeli ) – Head of the Border Ports Commission.

• H.E. ( Prof. Ahmet Davutoğlu ) – Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, to explore opportunities for strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Iraq and the friendly neighboring Republic of Turkey.
