The Advisor to the Prime Minister for International Investment Affairs and ( H.E. Ambassador Mr. Pascal Reyntjens ) Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Iraq

On Monday (April 6, 2026), The Advisor to the Prime Minister for International Investment Affairs, ( Mr. Adham Al Fakhar )
received ( H.E. Ambassador Mr. Pascal Reyntjens ) Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Iraq at his office in the Prime Minister’s headquarters.
Accompanied by ( Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Darwish ) , Government Coordination Officer and in the presence of ( Mr. Bassam Al-Atiya ) from the advisor’s Team.

During the meeting, several key topics were discussed :

First:
Memorandum of Understanding with Iraqi Government Entities
The parties discussed the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in its capacity as the main government partner. The MoU aims to develop and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through international (German) funding, in addition to reviewing implementation mechanisms on the ground to enhance economic development and create job opportunities.

Second:
Digital Transformation (Automation)
Both sides discussed the organization’s needs regarding digital projects to support its programs in Iraq, particularly those related to Iraqi migrants. This includes the establishment of a unified digital platform (one-stop shop) to provide comprehensive services and facilitate the issuance and updating of official documents, ensuring faster procedures and institutional integration among relevant entities.
