The second meeting of the (French Iraqi Business Council) was held with the attendance of council members to discuss operational costs and to determine the financial contribution for the council membership.
The meeting was held with (Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi – Deputy Minister of Environment) to discuss the possibility of the Ministry of Environment adopting the joint projects of the council’s members with the French side, particularly regarding (The environmental approvals) and providing support in this regard.
The first meeting of the members of the (French Iraqi Business Council) was held to discuss the structure of the council and to define the criteria and conditions for selecting the Board of Directors and council members.
Honored to hold a meeting with (Ms. Mary Kelly – Director of National Committees and Membership at International Chamber of Commerce) to discuss opportunities for cooperation and the provision of their services to the Council’s members. Addressing the possibility of obtaining accreditation for the curricula of the International Chamber of Commerce at (Al-Turath University).
The (Iraqi-French Business Forum) was organized by the Council at the residence of His Excellency (Mr. Wadee Batty – the Iraqi Ambassador in Paris). Along with business meetings with the French companies, accompanied by the esteemed ministers, advisors, and state officials at the Ambassador’s residence.
The first meeting was held with His Excellency ( Mr. Khaled Battal – Minister of Industry and Minerals ) at the Iraqi Embassy in Paris.. Attended by a selection of Council members and the ( General Director of Investments at the Ministry of Industry ) discussing the economic matters in general and industrial issues in particular.
The announcement of the establishment of the (French Iraqi Business Council) and the signing of the (Letter of Intent) by the Chairmen of the Council from both sides (Iraqi and French). In the presence of (Mr. Hayan Abdelghani – Minister of Oil and Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq) along with the largest business delegation to France headed by (Mr. Adham Al-Fakhar – Chairman of the Council for the Iraqi side).
The letter of intent was signed between (Mr. Adham Al-Fakhar – Chairman of the Council) and (Dr. Majid Al-Saedi – Chairman of the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan). The agreement focused on mutual cooperation between the members of both councils.
In December 2024, the Iraqi French Business Council (IFBC) hosted an important meeting in Iraq. The event brought together a dynamic group of Iraqi businessmen and women for direct discussions with key figures. Notable attendees included Member of Parliament Mohammed Al Darrajy and Mr. Hasan Al Khateeb, Counselor to the Prime Minister. The French Embassy also participated, demonstrating the strong bilateral interest in fostering economic ties. This gathering provided a valuable platform for dialogue on strengthening the business environment and exploring opportunities for collaboration between the Iraqi private sector, government representatives, and French partners. The IFBC continues its work in bridging connections to enhance Franco-Iraqi economic relations.
